Being a Sparkle Princess

I’ve loved fashion for as long as I can remember. I was super prissy growing up and for a while having to wear jeans was a punishment my parents used to keep me in line. One of the saddest things about growing up is losing that sense of playfulness when it comes to what we wear. Largely, our wardrobe decisions are dictated by social media, magazines, movies/TV, and, in my case, what I can wedge my butt into. I’ve gone from tutus and glitter jelly shoes to black tank tops & yoga pants. Sure, I jazz it up from time to time with a flower crown, printed kimono or a pair of glitter sneakers, but largely, my wardrobe is three things: functional, black, and work appropriate. I am currently working on that, but it’s a bit daunting.

I was scrolling through my Instagram feed the other day when I saw this dress. Since the company it came from was tagged, I quickly made my way to their page and felt the kind of giddy princess-y elation I felt as a young child. While Chotronette might be a little out of my price range for day to day items, I can see myself indulging in a dress for a special event someday, and they make these gorgeous creations to measure!

What do you think? Does this brand make you want to play dress up? I might exchange the combat boots for glittery heels, or at least glittery combat boots 😉

About Julie

My name is Julieanna Bucior, but I go by Julie (unless I'm in trouble). I'm thirty one. I am a bookkeeper by day, rogue fashion designer/crafter/amateur baker by night. I spend most of my time feeling like a kindergartner trapped inside an adult's body. I love reading, hanging out with my crazy cats and being silly. I'm pretty much the girl next door, with a twist.
