I’m a cat lover, and I’m friends with a lot of other cat lovers, and do you know what we enjoy getting? Cat stuff. Shocking, I know, but we really do. I can’t tell you have many people have given me ironic feline themed gifts hoping to illicit some sort of eye roll, but you know what? That stuff just makes me happy. T-shirts, pins, coffee mugs, stickers… bring. it. on.
- The Future Is Feline – Modcloth

- Fat Cat Statue – PhenomeGnome
- Cat Tote – Uncommon Goods

- Cat Salt & Pepper Grinder – Hot Topic

Now that being an unabashed fan of felines is downright trendy, there are hundreds of great gift ideas out there. If this list didn’t have anything that caught your fancy, just search “cat” on almost any website and you’ll likely to find something just right.
I am a crazy cat lady married to a crazy cat guy, and together, we are a crazy cat couple. We talk to our fur babies like they’re tiny bitchy fluffy humans. We tell them about our day, where we’re going, why they can’t do the thing, and how sorry we are that we cannot allow them to do the thing. Suffice to say, we are more than likely crazy reality TV gold. A symptom of this condition is that we are not only ridiculous about our cats, but about cats and cat stuff in general. I have two, that’s right, two tea towels with the phrase “Cat Hair – a condiment and an accessory.” Although in all fairness, I only purchased one of the two. I also have a tank top that barely covers my boobs, but proclaims me to be the world’s greatest cat mom, and I wear it proudly as I eat from my cat print bowl and sip tea from my “cat mom” mug. In spite of all of that, I still want to buy more cat themed products; nay, I need to buy more cat themed products. However else will the world know how devoted I am to my fluffy horde?
I’ve already daydreamed about picking up my keys from my cat bowl, throwing my cat tote over my arm, and heading to the farmers market in my cat tank to buy fresh produce to bake things I can take out of my oven with my cat oven mitt. I know, I dream big, right?
I am back in Tallahassee, and things are starting to settle back into the normal rhythm. I feel a tiny bit bratty for saying this, but is there anything worse than having to go back to work after an awesome vacation? Seriously, every move I make is punctuated by a mental “I don’t wanna!” I’ll have some trip photos for you guys later on this week, but today I wanted to share with you an article I found about a photo series by Magdalena Grześkowiak of her and her cat Kate throughout the seasons.
Her cat is much better behaved than mine are; most days, it’s like living with a herd of fluffy diva ninjas. I really do wish mine would agree to go on adventures with me. I had the best time seeing all of the different things she and Kate did together. If the glimpse above isn’t enough for you, you can see more of their adventures on their Instagram account.
As you are all well aware, I am completely at peace with my crazy cat lady-ism. Heck, 99% of the time I embrace it wholeheartedly. I love my fur babies, and I have a ridiculous amount of photos to back it up. Which brings me to today: after Charlie died last year, I wanted to get a memorial tattoo, and after 4 (oh yeah, it was 4) failed attempts at getting an appointment with the two artists I was interested in getting work from, I decided to shelve the idea. In hind sight, it wasn’t a bad thing considering I’ve since decided against my previously chosen artwork. Now I am going to wait until I find exactly what I want. However, the itch to get a new tattoo is still there. I’ve been considering getting one of the other tattoos I’ve been wanting, and the top contender is something to take my crazy cat lady status up a notch. I want to get a cattoo.
All of my current tattoos are fairly large and extremely colorful, but for my cat tattoo, I am finding myself drawn to more simplistic black and grey images. I really wish finger/hand tattoos had a better shelf life because a tiny cat on the inside of my right ring finger would be completely awesome, but if I am going to go through the pain, I want it to last.

It’s happened! The first cat tea room has opened in the United States. San Francisco, the proud home to the Golden Gate Bridge and the house where Charmed was filmed, can now add yet another exciting destination for locals and tourist alike – KitTea. The trend of tea rooms where patrons could interact with resident felines originated in Japan. Over the last few years, the trend has made its way across Europe with tea rooms in Rome and London, and now the US has one of our very own. If cats and tea aren’t enough for you, all the feline residents are also available for adoption.
To learn more about this amazing new addition or to make reservations, check out the company’s website. If you like to hear more about how this amazing place came to be, you can watch an interview with the founder.
