I like jewelry, a lot, but on the average day my accessories are pretty minimal. Now don’t get me wrong: I have plenty of over the top statement pieces to go with the occasional night out -I mean, it is the closest thing to grown-up dress up-, but for your average Wednesday? I have some pretty pieces, but they’re subtle and small enough to not get caught up on things as I move about. One of the hardest things for me to wear is rings. I craft, I type, I bake, I work with my hands all the time, and until I got married, rings were too much of a hassle to work with.
Lately however, I’ve been thinking about how I eventually got used to my wedding band (so much so that I feel naked without it), and I was thinking I might want to add a delicate right hand ring to my daily ensemble. It would be something that would make me feel a little special, and since it’d be small, it’d be less likely that it would be cumbersome. Plus, I looked at them on my phone once and now I am getting all sorts of shop ads on my Instagram feed. So many wonderful companies, and so many pretty things! How is a girl supposed to decide? Since I’ve been considering this addition a little more seriously, I’ve started to compile a list of options, some at all price points, and these are a few of my current top contenders.
- Petite Double Moonstone Ring – Moonstone Magic Jewelry
- Moon Guardian Ring – Catbird
- Butterfly Diamond Band – Audry Rose
- Opal Diamond Ring – Free People
- Marquise Ring – Tippy Taste
- Dainty Set – Rose & Choc
- Cluster Ring – Ferko’s Fine Jewelry
- Teardrop Diamond & Topaz Stack – Nordstrom
- Art Deco Band – Gems Box
So far #3 and #7 are the front runners, but they’re both at a high enough price point that I am disinclined to just go out and buy one of them without a good reason. I figure my birthday is a few months away and I should probably wait until then. That’ll also ensure that I won’t spend all that money on something that I end up not wearing.
Thanksgiving is not really known for its sparkle -that’s much more of a Christmas or New Year’s Eve kind of thing-, but I recently discovered that Free People has some truly stunning hair jewelry available this holiday season. I would be willing to don a turkey day tiara, perhaps starting a new trend. After all, it would be alliterative. Here are a few of my favorite pieces.
I think that a few of these, while gorgeous, are sedate enough to blend in at the dinner table. So what’ll be? Flowers? Geodes? Maybe a little of both?

I’m happily married, and I never plan on donning a wedding gown EVER again, but I still gave a little squee of delight when I received an email from Free People introducing their new wedding line Ever After. Lace and bows and billowy fabric, oh my!
I LOVE that these dresses still maintain the bohemian Free People aesthetic while still being undeniably wedding-y. I am a huge fan of people wearing whatever they want when they get married, but it should feel special. Fingers crossed, you only do this once. Side note: can we talk about how gorgeous the flower anklets in photo number 2 are? I may need to make some for myself and then find somewhere to wear them. Too much for the grocery store?
One of the saddest things about living in Florida is how short spring is. We get maybe 4-5 weeks between Winter and Summer. All over social media people are posting beautiful fields of spring blossoms and boasting about busting out their open toed shoes, and we hit hot and muggy weeks ago. Fortunately, fashion is finally catching up with the weather, and I am loving the loose, breezy sundresses popping up everywhere. Usually I like garments with a bit more structure, but these dresses seem ideal for keeping cool while running around.
That lilac one in particular is really speaking to me; I already have the perfect pair of silver sandals to wear with it, and it seems a shame to let a perfectly good outfit idea go to waste. What items are you looking at adding to your spring wardrobe?
We are quickly moving towards the more glamorous part of the holiday season. Halloween is fun, Thanksgiving is comfy casual, but Christmas & New Years? Those holiday parties usually require a little something special. Now these Party Dresses by Free People may not be the most budget friendly option, but you definitely won’t have to worry about showing up in the same dress as someone else. Glitzy, Glamorous and Gorgeous.
Serious eye candy, but I will most likely be adding something like this to my closet about the same time as start making enough to allow Andy to be a house husband. He has already promised that if I figure out how to make him a “kept man” he’ll cook, clean and work out until he gets ripped like Hugh Jackson was in the Xmen movies. A girl’s gotta dream big right?
