And just like that, May is half over. It’s been a busy month so I know why it feels like it’s flown by, but I am hoping that things slow down and stretch out a bit this summer. I could definitely use a couple of months that can be taken at a more leisurely pace. Especially now that the thermostat is almost always over ninety. It’s the perfect time of year for pasty people, like yours truly, to sleep in and enjoy nice quiet days at home in the lovely air conditioning. I have a couple of minor renovation projects I’d like to get done, so now it’s just deciding if I want to go ahead and get them out of the way or relax now and reno later. All that being said though, I am sort of thinking about continuing the Saturday morning tradition I started when my mom was here. Which is wake up early so Andy can sleep in, take care of the diabetic cat, hit the farmers’ market as soon as it opens, and then reward myself with tea and a pastry at the French patisserie near by.

Annnnnnnnd, it’s Friday again! One of those weeks that didn’t fly by, but contained enough metaphorical bobbing and weaving that you felt like you were super busy kicking ass and taking names and then *poof* Friday. Leaving you all “Uh, hey, wait, what?” Hmmmm, I think some of those late nights might be affecting my capacity to process. Anyway, I feel like I am still in the thick of things, heading into the weekend with an impressive to do list and almost the correct amount of get-up-and-go to accomplish it all. What I lack, my mom makes up for by keeping me on task and reminding me that while binge watching another season of Project Runway sounds like a great idea, she’ll be leaving in a week and then I’ll be doing all of these projects by myself. Here are some links to help you kick off your weekend.

Well my friends, I have to tell you I am in a pretty fantastic mood today. Andy and are loading up the car to drive to Orlando. We are taking my mom to Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure. This will be her first visit and as a huge Harry Potter fan she is so damn excited she is practically vibrating. It’s adorable. Not only that, but a couple of Andy and my friends from college happen to be there right now and it is looking like we have a pretty good chance of at the very least grabbing a meal with them. It’s been a little hectic getting everything squared away so we can get on the road, but the clock is ticking down and we are mere hours away from total vacation immersion. If you’re interested, I’ll be doing my best to post bits and pieces of our adventure on Instagram so just click on over and you can follow along. Happy Weekend!!!
I have definitely mellowed out a bit now that tax season is over, but my work attitude could still use a little adjusting. I found this article very interesting.
Like most people I was incredibly angry when I heard about what happened United Flight 3411. Even more so when the company tried to deny culpability, I am glad they are trying to make amends now, but I still don’t know if I will be flying with them any time soon.
As a crazy pet mom, I love to see other people share their love for their own furry children.

My enthusiasm for the end of the week is a little underwhelming today. While I am very pleased that the work week is at its end, all I really feel like doing right now is flopping down on my couch and staring at the ceiling for a while. Actually, my couch wouldn’t work in this scenario. If I were to flop onto my own couch, I would be swarmed immediately by the fluffy horde because it is apparently a house rule. Is mommy sitting or laying? She must have no fewer than three cats vying to assist her. While I love my furbabies dearly, they have been going above and beyond to keep my blood pressure elevated. Breaking things, getting into things, trying to escape, crying at the door for half the night….you get the idea. All of this, I’m sure, will be remedied with a good night’s rest and some uninterrupted reading time. Maybe. Hopefully.
After this very long week, I am very much in need of this list of ways to improve your mood.
