It’s the first day of fall, ladies and gents! I feel like I should be doing something special like burning a PSL while dancing around in Ugg boots waving a plaid blanket scarf. You know, something seasonally appropriate. I am at least wearing the single plaid shirt I own. I thought about stopping through Starbucks or something for hot cider, but it’s about 80 degrees outside right now, and as much a my little heart wants to believe it’s fall, my head knows I am still at least a month out. It probably won’t stop me from a little bit of indulgence though. I mean, I have already gone apple picking and made baked goods from said apples. There’s no going back from that. Besides, I still have a veggie crisper full of hand picked apples, so I can’t stop baking any time soon. So many apples. #sorrynotsorry

This season, my favorite season, has to be started by watching Matt Bellassai Wine About It: Why Fall is the Worst. I love fall, but this makes me laugh so hard. Plus the bit about pumpkin is 100% true. Just saying.

If unlike me, your partner is interested in participating in seasonally themed shenanigans, here are 10 Charming Fall Date Ideas.

Also, now that I know they exist, I need these fairy light filled pumpkins in my life.

I read something very exciting, Practical Magic, one of my favorite movies/books is getting a prequel in November! The Rules of Magic will be about the aunts, Jett & Frances, and their mysterious brother Vincent. I can’t wait!

I’ve never made a whole lot of bundt cakes, but this recipe for Vanilla Bean Bundt Cake with Pecan Praline Glaze… yeah, that sounds amazing.

Evidently, being a royal isn’t all gracious waving and tiara wearing; there are rules. Some important, some ridiculous, but still rules!

This has been a crazy week. With Irma bearing down on Florida this past weekend, Andy and I decided to pack up the cats and a few select belongings and caravan our two vehicles up to NC to stay with my mom. As you can imagine, gas was scarce, traffic was awful, and the journey took us several hours more than it should. Ultimately, we were really lucky and Irma veered off at the last moment, just brushing Tallahassee. Our neighborhood had some downed limbs, but according to my next door neighbor, the power never even went out. This was not the case for other parts of the city, but it did mean that Andy and I had a fully functioning home to come back to (after a horrible drive back) when my boss ordered every body back into the office by Wednesday morning. We’re very, very tired, but getting things back on track.

Many of my friends and family in the lower part of the state, however, are still without power and gas. It is heartbreaking because I know how miserable they are, but I can’t get to them without being stranded myself. Fortunately, rescue and power crews are working day and night to get things up and running as soon as humanly possible. A lot of them have been promised relief by the end of Saturday or Sunday. I can’t tell you how relieved I am that at the very least we’re all safe. And if praying is something your comfortable with, I’d really appreciate you sending up an extra one for all the people trying to put their world back together right now. Every little bit helps.

For all of you hard core Harry Potter fans out there, Pottery Barn Teen has released a collection inspired by the iconic series. They also have a few DIYs that’ll make your space that much more magic.

The world could use more of these Tiny, Weird & Brilliant ideas.

Summer may be over, but that doesn’t mean you can’t start planning your epic BBQ set up for next year.

I know the temperature has barely begun to drop (it’s been in the high 80’s here), but I am already dreaming about cozy fall dinner. Things like this Creamy Cauliflower & Leek Soup.

Flowers can do a lot to brighten up a space or elevate a table, but aside from cutting the stems and throwing them in a creative vase I find myself at a loss. That’s why I truly appreciate this tutorial for creating a sophisticated fall flower arrangement.

In the past I have been…well…a bit derisive when it comes to pre-fab homes, but this beautiful “surf shack” by Ikea has me changing my tune.

This “Young Wild & 3” Shibori inspired party has me wanting to do some serious DIYing.

These nightlights are whimsical as well as practical and I think I might need one for the back hallway or the guest bathroom. You know, for safety.

Hey guys…..it’s late, I really meant to get this post to you earlier today, but….stuff. I am having a weird day. I am pretty jazzed it’s Friday, but my excitement is tempered by the fact that it’s been a strange week. The eclipse was Monday and that was pretty cool, but honestly I don’t even remember Tuesday. Wednesday I dragged my hacking, wheezing tush to the doctor (it’s been two weeks of this BS, guys) and found out that I had bronchitis. Which is better than pneumonia, which they thought I might have but was disproved by the chest x-ray I had to get. On Thursday, Andy had his arm butchered by a trainee drawing his blood; they nicked a nerve, and now we get to wait to see if the loss of sensation is permanent or not. They better hope it isn’t, or dear lord, I will be bringing down a world of hurt of them, just saying. N,ow it’s Friday, and I’d like to go celebrate, but I’m tired so I am laying on the couch watching YouTube videos and thinking about how I need to finish this and get it posted before it actually becomes Saturday. I think I am just going to give up on today and hope that tomorrow is better. Night, guys!

These black diamond “stitch” earrings are delicate and speak directly to the part of me that fondly remembers many a night in college spent sewing until 2am.

Every once in a while I find myself lamenting the distance between myself and places like NY, if I were closer I could make a trip into the city to see wonderful installation like this one at the NCBG.

My kitchen is… well… a bit small, and I am always looking for ways to make the most out of the space. I think some of these DIY projects might be just what I need.

There are some weird people in this country, and sometime they make some weird things. Here are some bizarre landmarks in the good ole’ US of A.

While I went much more subtle with my wedding day make up, there is a part of me that would have been delighted to rock something colorful and shimmery like this.

Did you know Disneyland has a not-so-secret-these-days club?

We all know that heels take an outfit to the next level, but is it worth it in the long run?

This amazing Grilled Peach Avacado Caprese Salad is the perfect way to enjoy the last of the summer fruits and veggies before fall sets in.

Happy Friday, people. This week has had an jarringly jerky feel to it. Walk. Run. Stop. Run. Stop. Run. Walk. We started out in vacation mode in St. Augustine, then it was back to the office to play catch up and to make final travel plans for our Chicago trip next week. So much going on, a flurry that makes your head spin, and then a few hours of uneasy quiet while you wait for the next deluge to hit. As I write this, I have half a dozen search windows open looking for something to do this weekend. There is plenty of prep work to be done, but in my current mood, I’ll be climbing the walls if I don’t find a way to feel like I am moving, doing, accomplishing. We’ll see, I have some tentative plans for tomorrow that will keep me out of the house for a bit. Poor Andy is ready to bask in some peace and quiet with a few mindless hours of video games thrown in. We react to stress in opposite ways, and it has been one of the things I’ve had to be mindful of during our marriage. As much as we love spending time together, we realize it’s important for us to find time and space to do our own things. That’s the wisdom of almost six years of marriage talking. Not even a decade in, and here I am dispensing advice 😛

In the last year or so I have found myself forgoing my previous earring staple, the chandelier earring, in favor of more minimal options. These ear pins by Kat Kim are absolutely stunning. Dramatic but simple, and I’d love to get my hands on a few pairs.

I’ve always dreamed of having my own personalized fragrance, but it seemed to be a fairly pricey undertaking. I recently saw this post featuring Scent Trunk, and I am seriously considering giving them a try. I mean, for less than $20? Yes, please!

If there was a recipe book entitled “Food on Boards”, you can bet that it would be on my bookshelf. Okay in reality, it would be stacked on my coffee table, but you get the idea. I love the idea of communal plates for parties and entertaining since it’s a great way to get people to interact, and this Ultimate Caprese Salad Board is right on point.

I have been all about the rose embroidery trend you see popping up all over the place. I already bought a cute sundress, but I could probably get away with wearing this cute little number to the office with the right accessories.

Shout out to my fellow chubby girls: 32 Things Only Ladies With A Little Chubby Stomach Will Understand.

If you’re feeling a bit ambitious for regarding breakfast this weekend, allow me to suggest this Lavender Brioche French Toast. Then invite me over, I really want to try it, but I really don’t feel like making a loaf of bread just so I can. Just text me; I’ll bring mimosas.

It has been a week and then some at Casa Bucior. Andy had a horrible reaction to the antibiotics he was prescribed for his persistent cough, and we spent last Thursday and Friday night in the ER combating the horrible hives that broke out all over his body. He was housebound for the whole weekend as well as Monday and most of Tuesday. While I was juggling work and trying to care for my poor itchy hunny, I also managed to pick up some minor cold, so we’ve all been little rays of sunshine, let me tell you. Fortunately, we both seem to be on the mend, so my hopes for the weekend are a little higher than mere couch surfing. I might even get my shit together enough to go to the farmer’s market and do brunch. Ambitious, I know. What is on deck for your sultry summer weekend?

Love this sheer project by Buzz Feed’s Kristin Chirico. I am adding “sheer” to my list of fashion fears that I am going to force myself to try this year.

This warmer weather has me craving something fizzy, and these healthy soda recipes sound refreshing and inventive.

I haven’t been to a Tiki Bar since college, and after reading about this Chicago spot on the Sconnie Sling, I am thinking about trying to hit it up when I am there in August.

Enjoy the Unicorn trend the adult way, with cocktails!

With everything that is wrong with airlines today, this one decided to focus on what is truly important, the uniforms their stewardesses wear. I laugh, but they are gorgeous.

Normally, I am not a huge fan of grey clothing, but this sweet little embroidered t-shirt has me thinking it might be time to change my tune.

Spend the whole day in bed? Yes, please!

These cute fabric catch-alls are easy to make, and I think a set of varying sizes would be an excellent gift. The holidays are inching closer, I’m just saying.
