I like to think that I am fairly adventurous in my choice of footwear. I have glittery ballet flats, embroidered silk converse, velvet ankle wrap heels and 5″ peep-toe sling backs with fuchsia patent roses glued to them, but these quirky heels by Irregular Choice might be just a bit to much.
I guess this is about what you should expect from a brand called Irregular Choice, and quite honestly the blue pair with cat heels do tickle my fancy, but I’m not sure where I would even wear something like this. Although, it would definitely give the rest of the office something to talk about if I got of pair to wear to work….hmmmmm….maybe after tax season?
I love a gorgeous pair of heels as much as the next shoe enthusiast, but since I’m 5’10” I don’t really require any additional height. Not that added height is the only reason to wear heels, but the other benefits are outweighed by me not being able to drive in them (heels +longer legs = having to drive barefoot so knees fit under the steering wheel) or being able to sit at my desk with them on (the low desk equation is much like the car equation), so 9 times out of ten my footwear of choice is a cute pair of flats. The only down side to my flats fetish is that I run through them pretty quickly. I have a couple of pairs that I just can’t bear to part with, that keep getting inserts because the original insoles are long gone, but for the most part they get replaced pretty regularly. This winter has been particularly hard on my current collections, so I was delighted to see the enormous flats selection at Mod Cloth. I haven’t made any purchases yet, but here are the top ten pairs I am crushing on.
There are about 20 other pairs that I’d love, but I think it might not be a good idea to spend my entire paycheck on shoes.
Have you guys heard about the Nike Studio Wrap Pack? They ended up on my Pinterest feed yesterday and I was completely floored! The wrap pack was designed to help make the most of workouts typically done in bare feet, things like yoga and dance. Granted, now days any cardio or yoga I do is done in my living room, but I remember going to the gym in college and cringing every time I took my shoes off for class.
The kit includes a wrap, a ribbon and a flat, that is supposed to provide ” a barefoot feel with protection, traction, support and style”. I want them so badly!

*I am not a paid spokesperson for Nike, but if they’d like to send me a set I am a size 10 and I would be willing to trade a weeks worth of posts. Just saying.
To all my wonderful friends planning a wedding, look at all the pretty things! A few weeks ago I got an email from Anthropologie introducing BHLDN Weddings; a combination website and traveling trunk show (check locations here). I wish this had been around when Andy and I were tying the knot, so many pretty things.
They’ve got a little bit ever everything wedding dresses, non-wedding dress, decor, keepsakes, shoes and even stationary. Even if you aren’t getting married it’s worth taking a look since many of the items don’t have to be “wedding only”. Oh, and they have inspiration pages as well.
