It is stupidly hot here in sunny sunny Florida. The temperature is now regularly hitting the mid to upper 90’s and the humidity make it feel like you’re swimming instead of walking. Unsurprisingly, I have been doing my best to stay hydrated, but drinking glass after glass of water, can be a little boring. So I try to keep a pitcher of infused(flavored) water in the fridge. Not to brag, but I’ve been doing this for a while and I feel like I have come up with some pretty good combinations. Strawberry, orange and basil, cucumber, mint and blueberry(yeah I’m kind of awesome like that), but then I flipped through my blog feed and saw this post by Alisa Burke….yeah, i’m going to have to up my game.
I can tell you that I won’t be making the cilantro water though, no matter how many ways I try using that herb, I just don’t like it. Tastes like soap.

I it’s important to have a date night. Even if you’re married, especially if you’re married. Relationship status aside a girl needs to dress up and go out somewhere special, even if she has to take her self. Bonus, you have an excuse to buy some thing pretty. Something a little floaty, a little girly and a little sexy, and right now I am really digging the summer dress collection at Free People.
See? Absolutely perfect for a sultry summer date night.

It’s summer, a time for long evenings, frozen treats, Bar-B-Q’s, frozen treats and most importantly, frozen treats (it gets really hot here, don’t judge). In our house ice cream is frozen treat of choice, and in the last year we’ve been trying out non-dairy based products. The Vegan Toasted Coconut Ice Cream was the first vegan ice cream I’d ever had; before that I was extremely skeptical of the quality of flavor, how could you possible make ice cream without dairy right? But I was wrong, I LOVE coconut ice cream! And not in that “well-for-being-vegan-it-isn’t-bad” way, but in the “hey-wanna-come-over-so-I-don’t-eat-all-of-this-by-myself” way. After reading this article that has 29 different vegan ice cream recipes, I can’t wait to try out some new flavor variations. The four I am most interested in are the Cinnamon Toast Ice Cream, Banana Cherry Garcia, Strawberry-Banana and Salted Caramel Pretzel.
