Bath Wishlist

One of the things I said I wanted to focus on this year was self care. I’ve been doing a few things to take better care of myself and make my life a little easier. One of the more indulgent things I’ve been doing is taking a nice tub soak at the end of a particularly long day. It started out with the tub and whatever soap I could squirt under the faucet to make bubbles, but as I’ve made this a bigger part of my routine I’ve started adding different things to make the experience a little more luxurious. Below I have curated some items that I would love to keep on hand for the perfect evening bubble bath.

  1. FizzbangerLush
  2. Teak Bath CaddyBed Bath & Beyond
  3. Verbena Shower GelL’Occitane
  4. ThresholdTarget
  5. Botanica Trinket DishAnthropologie
  6. Volcano CandleCapri Blue
  7. Imperial Purple RobeSoma
  8. Volition Wine GlassModCloth
  9. Evolution Salt Massage StoneUrban Outfitters

As you can see, there are a few items in there that aren’t for the bath exactly. A gold catch-all for the jewelry I am always forgetting to take off, glasses for a beverage to enjoy during the soak, and a pink salt sphere to use on any tension the soak didn’t alleviate.  Little touches to make things my version of “perfect”. What do you need for your perfect soak?

Spring Wishlist

The temperature is rising, and with the emergence of the snow drops in my front yard and the azaleas in the back, it really seems like spring is here or at the very least on it’s way. This time of year always leads to a general lightening of life for me, everything from clothing, to hair color, to mood. Heck, I even wear less make up: some tinted moisturizer (with SPF of course), a swipe of highlighter, and a natural lip color, and I am good to go, which, in hindsight, is probably good considering Florida’s weather is notoriously fickle and at least once a week I’ll find myself stuck somewhere without an umbrella because of unexpected rain. I love it though, it’s such a brief season here, and it leaves me lamenting my hours spent at the office instead of enjoying the rare glorious weather. When I lived on campus while I was in college, I’d load up my tote bag with books and water and then spend the afternoon stretched out on the green in front of the library.

My mom is here visiting for a couple of weeks so I am hoping that she and I will get a chance to do some spring-ish type activities. Things like walking around some of the local parks, eating lunch outside, and maybe even doing a little gardening. What are you looking forward to this spring?

Black Shirt Wishlist

I wear a lot of black. It’s slimming, it’s difficult to stain, and it goes with pretty much everything. Over the past year or so I have pushed myself to incorporate more color in my day to day wardrobe, but for all the progress made, I am still very much a black shirt kind of girl. Now that the weather is getting a bit cooler, I am making the important transition from tank tops & spaghetti straps into something that can be layered or has a bit more fabric to it. Granted, not much, this is Florida after all, but just a smidgen. Embracing my curviness I have been focusing more on sites that are specifically for plus size women or women who straddle the line between standard and plus. Here are three of my top picks from three of the top stores I am considering purchasing my next few wardrobe additions from.

My absolute favorite is the one in the center. I look great in wrap tops, and the added drama of that long bow is fantastic. There are already so many items in my closet that I could wear it with. My anniversary and Christmas are right around the corner, so if I don’t pick it up for myself, there is the possibility that someone else might 😉

Witchy Wishlist

While I don’t go as big for Halloween as some of my friends (we’re talking entire homes being covered in all things spooky), I do find the prospect of Jack-O-Lanterns and dressing up fun. It’s gotten a bit more difficult as I’ve gotten older; I have this desire to “become” whatever I choose to dress up as vs. merely wearing something that is obviously a costume, which mostly leads to frustrating DIY days and me deciding to go as a cat once again. The other thing I like to do is pick up “costume” pieces that could be integrated into my day to day life and wardrobe. This year for a bit of fun, I made up a witchy themed wishlist of items I think many modern day spell casters would be delighted to own.

  1. Rhapsody Crown NecklaceLeia Beila
  2. Night VisionsRituel de Fille
  3. Phase of the Moon WatchHot Topic
  4. Peaceful Home CandlesNew Moon Beginnings
  5. Moon Flower Flat BootFree People
  6. As You Wish Floral JacketUrban Outfitters
  7. Natural Quartz Filigree NecklaceHowling Moon UK
  8. Laurel CrownElemental Child
  9. Layered Lacework DressAnthropologie

What do you think? Better than some random pointy black hat, right? This wishlist also had a bit of a Practical Magic feel to it. I wanted so badly to be as cool as the Owens women when I was younger. Not the whole losing the love of your life part, but more of the great fashion sense, subtle spelling abilities, and the self confidence that the aunts had in spades. I also wanted the house; it was a really great house 🙂

Etsy Wishlist

To give you a tiny Chicago break, today I want to share with you my current Etsy wishlist. Right now I am feeling lots of color and sparkle, shocking I know. Nothing major, but items with character to complement what I already have. One of the things I love about trolling Etsy is that you always find unique items. My “favorites” list is ridiculously long. Don’t even get me started on my favorite shops list.

Pretty, right? That cartilage bling is calling my name especially loudly. The silver hoop I’ve been wearing for years (don’t worry I replace it regularly) has gotten caught on things a few times lately and I am starting to feel that something a bit more close fitting might be a little safer.
