My relationship with shoes is pretty much spot on with a quote from the movie/book In Her Shoes:
“When I feel bad, I like to treat myself. Clothes never look any good, food just makes me fatter, shoes always fit.”
I’ve always been tall, I was 4 inches taller than my mom by sixth grade. That, coupled with a good dose of junk in my trunk, led to very awkward clothing issues during my adolescence. But shoes, shoes rarely let me down. When I was younger it was shiny patent leather maryjanes, spiffy saddle shoes and customized Keds. Now it’s funky peep-toe pumps, ballerina flats and bejeweled sandals.
I try to keep my shoe collection reasonable, but the spring designs, like the ones above from Anthropologie, make it really hard to be good.
*I think my favorite pair is either the pair on the top right or the pair on the bottom right.
All images and shoes are from Anthroplogie.
