Andy and I have been in our house for a little under two years now. It’s wonderful knowing that every mortgage payment we make brings us one month closer to making this place 100% ours. When we moved in, we painted the “important” rooms like the living room, kitchen, bedroom and office; and we bought the “important” furniture like a bed, dining room table and couch, but since that initial flurry of unpacking/decorating, things have sort of petered out. There has been the occasional bookshelf here, a futon for the guestroom, a mirror for the mantel there, but decor-wise our house is largely unfinished. Part of the delay is our desire to find unique good quality pieces, part is because unique good quality pieces tend to be a little expensive, and then there is the fact that we have very different opinions on what is “good” decor. I think this beautiful home featured on Design Sponge (full post can be viewed here) may be kind of what we end up with, minus the neon pink. 9 times out of 10 I get to make the final purchase call, but I feel like the husband might put his foot down in this case.
