Degas & Copeland

Misty Copeland, first African-American woman to be named a principal dancer at the American Ballet Theatre, has joined forces with Harpers Bazar to recreate some of the famous ballet images by  Edgar Degas. This feature will appear in the March issue, but some of the images and in production shots have been released as a teaser. I have to say that I can not wait to see the full feature. Degas was one of the first artists I really fell in love with as a child. I can still remember standing in the museum with my aunt (my first real museum visit) and thinking how the paintings were even more beautiful than the pictures could ever convey. I am a little jealous that someone actually gets to live them, even if only for a moment.
