I think I’ve hit the point in tired where I think I’m hilarious and everyone else thinks that I’m just strange, so I am going to apologize for this post before we get started.
Lately, I’ve been re-reading one of my favorite series, and the book i’m currently on focuses a lot on Alaskan folklore, big foot, werewolves, creepy water women and my favorite, ghost lights. For as far back as anyone can remember hikers, hunters, trappers, basically anyone spending large amounts of time in the Alaskan wilderness, tell tales of encounters with these eerie lights. Depending on the story, ghost lights can be helpful, guiding lost children safely out of the woods; or deadly, leading lost hikers into bogs or off the side of cliffs. The stories seem to be about 50/50.
So when I saw this instillation by Norwegian artist Rune Guneriussen, I started laughing and muttering to myself about ghost lights going high tech. Personally, I would be far more freaked out by stumbling across a bunch of lit lamps in the middle of nowhere than by a floating blue orb or two.
I think the ghost lights should stay with their current schtick, I mean, trails of lamps in the forest? Who is going to pay that power bill?

I don’t think I triple shot of expresso and the promise of new shoes would have made getting out of bed any easier this morning. I just haven’t been sleeping well the last few days and it is starting to takes its toll. I even found myself being jealous of Octavian (one of my cats), he was dozing so comfortably snuggled up in our big fluffy couch throw this morning. So I’ve been sitting at work, trying to be productive, and catching myself daydreaming about cool sheets and snugly blankets. I keep telling Andy we need to become independently wealthy so we don’t have to go to work every day, now if I could only figure out how to become independently wealthy….I fear it has something to do with going to work…
This doesn’t bode well for the rest of my week, it’s only Tuesday (sigh).
